Seeing the barrage of news stories that come out every day about the climate crisis is overwhelming, to say the least. It’s so easy to find yourself wanting to ignore it and pretend it’s not happening because that’s so much less scary than admitting the truth. But we can’t change it by ignoring it. We need to change it with action. And to do that we need everyone. Every single person counts in our fight to save the planet, including you. You are the change.
Overall, there needs to be a larger systematic change in order to stop climate change. Everything, from how we travel to how we shop, needs to be turned on its head and made more sustainable. But the system won’t change unless we do. We can’t just wait for change to happen, we need to make it happen, through our own actions and by inspiring others. Getting started can be hard because changing how you live your life is no easy task. But it’s not impossible, you just need to start small. Reduce your single-use plastic waste and buy a reusable water bottle. Borrow books from your local library instead of buying new ones from unsustainable stores. And at Ethica, we strongly encourage you to shop second-hand before you go to a fast fashion brand, whether at a thrift store or on Ethica. These are just some of the small adjustments you can make to help contribute to the change we need. If everyone started making these sorts of shifts in their own lives, hopefully soon the system itself will need to change. And when the system changes, good things will come.
At Ethica, we’re dedicated to changing the system. Start the change by shopping with us.
